When facing a challenge in business, or even in everyday life, one needs to dedicate time and
space, means, and knowledge in order to achieve the best possible results. The Stern Stewart
Institute’s challenge is to provide time and space, means, and knowledge as well as to combine
these ingredients in an appropriate way in order to drive entrepreneurship and empowerment.
As an independent non-profit organization, we guide international solution-oriented discourse
that addresses the current global politico-economic questions. We also operate our own entrepreneurial projects.
Every September, the Institute invites selected international leaders and thinkers to its Annual
Summit. In an informal and confidential atmosphere they share their expertise on how to create
value in consideration of the current global trends and management challenges.
Our entrepreneurial projects are geared towards developing countries. Microfinance activities as
well as educational projects are an effective lever to push economic independency and self-help
in underdeveloped parts of the world. This Annual Report provides an overview of our projects in
western and Southern Africa.
