The old school – a straw covered hut
A new primary school in Namissiguima, a small village in the outskirts of Ouahigouya opened its doors on Saturday, June 27. 280 children in total will attend this school.
The construction of the new school was financed and supervised by The Stern Stewart Institute. The building replaces an old straw covered hut and includes three classrooms, one office room and one room for storing school material. Laciné Sawadogo, representative of The Stern Stewart Institute in Burkina Faso, appreciates the significantly improved schooling environment in Namissiguima: „Classes will not be affected by bad weather anymore and we will have class sizes of less than 100 pupils.“

The mayor of Namissiguima thanks the contributors for their support
