September 16, Ouagadougou. The Stern Stewart Institute provided prompt aid to the victims of the devastating floods in Burkina Faso. Thousands of houses and apartments have been destroyed in the capital Ouagadougou and the surrounding areas due to the heaviest rains for 90 years according to the authorities. About 150,000 people have become homeless as a result.
The Institute promptly contributed five tons of rice and urgently required clothing for the inhabitants of the disaster area.
Viviane Yolande Compaoré, governor of Northern Burkina Faso, thanked the Institute for the prompt support saying that “the victims of the disaster feel that they are not left alone in times of need”.
