The LMA canteen offers affordable meals to its students

Since 2005 the Institute supports the private "Lycée Moderne de l’Amitié" (LMA). The goal is to foster education for girls who are particularly disadvantaged and to achieve a standard of education that is competitive to high international standards. Currently 400 students attend the school (7th to 10th grade) of which 90% are girls, the rest are orphaned or otherwise aggrieved boys. Class size is limited to a maximum of 50 students and with 22 teachers the LMA is better equipped than any public school, allowing for more prep time for each lesson and individual care of needy students. The school facilities also include a sports ground and a library and once a week a nurse provides basic health and sex education.

In public schools only few students can afford lunch and lack the energy to concentrate in the afternoon classes. At the LMA, every day a warm meal is provided at the school canteen for a very low price. Accordingly, the passing rate at the year-end exams exceeds those of public schools by far.

In 2009, a two-story-building with eight additional classrooms was added to the school which now has a total capacity of 800 students and provides also the last three years of school before university (11th to 13th grade).

Furthermore, thanks to a generous donation by Centrosolar, a solar company, the school now possesses its own energy supply. Located at the outskirts of Ouahigouya and isolated from the unreliable public energy grid, the school can now operate PCs, printers, ventilators, light, a refrigerator etc.
