After working for Wegenstein Consulting in Zurich, Switzerland, as a management consultant, he entered into the family company, the Zumtobel AG in Dornbirn (Austria). He was qualified in different fields, such as production planning & controls, manufacturing and sale organization before he took over the responsibility as CEO of the worldwide operating Zumtobel Group with approx. 9,000 employees in 1991. Since 2003, he has been the Chairman of the Board of the Zumtobel Group.
During his professional life, Mr. Zumtobel had various functions, among others he was a Delegate of the German Lighting Industry Association (ZVEI), Frankfurt (Germany), Member of the Committee for Architecture & Design MoMA New York (in duty) and French Honorary Consul.
