Summit 2007:
Deconstructing the DNA for Lasting StrategiesSummit 2007: Deconstructing the DNA for Lasting Strategies

Worldwide stock markets reach all-time highs. Private equity is on a major upswing and finds its way into bigger and bigger companies. While the world is tied into the belief of unstoppable economic growth, a credit crisis hits the market triggered by a subprime mortgage meltdown. These developments raise questions on what lasting strategies are needed to secure sustainable performance, both in financial markets and the corporate context.

On the agenda of the Annual Summit 2007 were panel discussions such as:

  •  How private is corporate equity? Just a difference in attitude or the superior structure bringing capital markets into corporations or leading to short term returns in the PE business?
  •  Where has the shareholder value gone? Do investors own companies or simply trade companies? What does the market for corporate control lack?
  • The overestimation of M&A: Should M&A be used as a tool or a strategy? Why are acquisitions so easy and divestures so hard? Why is synergy potential almost always promised and almost never realized?

The Annual Summit 2007 took place on September 6 to 8 at Lake Tegernsee, located in the southeast of Munich, Germany. Please find more detailed information in our program (PDF below).
