
Business and finance finally decide to venture back into the risky world of the Internet. But while the new economy is on the rise again – the old economy struggles. Numerous flagships of the past, especially in the automotive industry, have a hard time adjusting to the new business context. It’s time for enterprises to abandon the spectator perspective and actively shape their business environment in order to fully leverage their potential.
Among others discussion topics of the Annual Summit 2005 were the following:
- Managing for value – setting a target, defining the strategy and changing the mindset: Does strategy follow target or does target follow strategy? Who makes a strategy a strategy?
- More than mere outsourcing – realizing market opportunities in India: Partnering or competing – which strategy is more promising? Is the retail industry ready for FDI?
- The CEO Agenda 2006: What are the main challenges for sustainable value creation? Is corporate strategy a CFO or a CEO domain?
