Light at the end of the tunnel? Or just a glimpse of a recovering economy? Global political turmoil has left its imprint on the business world. And even if stock prices are on the rise again, investors remain cautious. Faced with high political and economic uncertainty, alienated by false performance promises and management scandals, investors are hard to woo.
The following panel topics were on the agenda of the Annual Summit in 2003:
- Shareholder pressure – investor structure and implication on value creation: Which investor demands what type of performance? Sovereign wealth funds – Blessing or curse?
- Reputed soft factors – balancing short term results and the creation of long term value potential: What types of managers are needed in the future? Should talent be internally developed or externally bought?
- The end of shareholder value: Does over-engineered governance paralyze entrepreneurship? Where do supervisory boards stand – On the investor side or management side?
The Annual Summit was held in Rottach-Egern, located in the southeast of Munich, from October 23 to 25. Please find more detailed information in our program (PDF below).
