Besides he holds the position of deputy chairman of German-British Forum, advisory board member of Centre for European Reform, and board member of British Chamber of Commerce in Germany. He is chairman of the advisory board of the London & Oxford Group, also was made Commander of the British Empire in 2000 and was awarded the German Order of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz) in 2003.
He held leadership positions at investment bank Robert Fleming, corporate finance boutique Hawkpoint and management consultancy Droege, where he built the UK subsidiary. He started with a journalistic career at Reuters and the Financial Times, becoming European editor.
David Marsh is an honorary professor at the University of Birmingham. He is a prolific commentator on economic and business issues and author of several books.
